Fishing boats provide the commercial viability for Pittenweem and have done so since the middle ages. A fleet of nearly 40 boats operate from the busy harbour and the fishmarket in the village is an interesting place to visit even if you are not buying fish. Nowadays, with the fleet being so modern, the older boats are less likely to put to sea. None any less so than this example.
