Leuchars Flying Club is an authorised ELCAS provider so you may be able to use your Enhanced Learning Credit towards the cost of your flying training.  You can find out more details by contacting the ELC rep at the Learning Centre at RAF Leuchars.

PPL training at the Club follows the new JAR syllabus.  The JAR-FCL training course requires that the trainee has at least 45 hours of flight training; ten hours solo and no fewer than 25 hours with an instructor.  Five hours of solo cross country flying is also required.  Ground tuition and ground exams are available covering all the required subject to gain a PPL.  A student must be 16 years of age before their first solo flight (although a qualified pilot must be at least 17 years old).

NPPL is also available with a requirement of the trainee having to fly at least 35 hours.  This licence allows PPL holders to fly only in the UK .
