Leuchars Flying Club, based at RAF Leuchars on the shores of the Eden Estuary, is a registered training facility and offers tuition for the Joint Aviation Authority Private Pilots License (PPL) and the Civil Aviation Authority National Private Pilots License (NPPL).  We have a single engine Robin DR400 aircraft which can be used for training or for hire if you already hold a valid PPL.

The Club exists to provide low-cost flying training and light aircraft flying to all members of the Armed Forces.  This includes members of the RAuxAF and the Reserves, Volunteer Reserves, Cadet Forces and all former members of all 3 services.

A limited number of non-Service personnel are entitled to join as long as they fulfil the required criteria; they are to receive the required level of Military Security clearance and provide a positive contribution to the club.  Non flying members and passengers can be escorted on to the unit for a trial lesson with our instructor or flights with other club members, but will need to join the club in if they wish to continue training and/or private flying.
