The Fishermen's Mutual Association (Pittenweem) Ltd is the co-operative for fishermen operating out of the East Neuk of Fife, on the Firth of Forth in Scotland. Established in 1948, the F.M.A. is based in the traditional fishing village of Pittenweem, where it maintains the infrastructure that supports the thriving, local fishing industry.
Besides managing retail and wholesale sales through KINGDOM SEAFOOD, the F.M.A. offers support services to member vessels, which includes fuel sales, operating an ice plant, running the local fish market, sales of ship's chandlery (in collaboration with the Federation of Fishing Co-operatives) and the management of a fish processing operation. Owned by local fishermen, the F.M.A. plays an important role in supporting the sustainable exploitation of the natural marine resources that have supported the East Neuk of Fife for over 800 years.
