FlightLog3 from MICROMAN
the market leader in
Air Support flight logging software.Microman produced the first version of FlightLog in 1994 for Strathclyde Police and since then the software has been used by Lancashire, Merseyside, Grampian and Tayside police air support units. The first version was written in Clipper, with a "text based user interface", this means it looked like PNC2. The next version was written in VB and was the Windows system which all the users had been crying out for. This introduced the idea of graphical reports being produced instantly by the program rather than exporting the data and making graphs in another piece of software. Version 2 also started the trend of greater statistical analysis by predefined buttons and a calendar style of date selection.
FlightLog3 will allow you to meet the requirements of staff at force headquarters for more detail about how many times the Skyshout has been used in the dark over the past six months or how many hours each dog in the force has been flown, how many cars of each colour have been pursued, which officer has the highest rate of declining jobs based on weather, etc etc.
We have to remember that the funding for such a high profile unit will be subject to a great deal of scrutiny and so there is a need to respond to questions from elected officials. Nowhere is this more pressing than in Scotland with 12 local authorities making up the force area for Strathclyde. Each authority wants to know they are only paying the costs associated with providing a quality police service in their area. Many forces have struggled with the question of transit time to a job at the extreme edge of the force area in this context. Do you make a punitive recharge on the local authority at the distant end of the journey because you are providing policing for that area, or do you recharge each area you fly over en route as the presence of the aircraft is a proven deterrent? FlightLog3 copes with either scenario.
The simplicity of entering data in the system, by the use of drop down lists and buttons for the most common options, means a reduction in typing for most jobs compared to recording data in a spreadsheet or database package. We believe that the smart capture of data with error trapping and intelligent pre empting of the crew and other routine details is important.
FlightLog3 will also break new ground in diversification for forces, a long time strong point of FlightLog. Should you see something which is not applicable to your force methods, do not assume that this is written in stone, we can, and do, modify things for each force. No customer has ever lost any data from FlightLog, the backup routines built in to the program, coupled with the close support from Microman ensures a resilient system for recording and reproducing statistics on air support operations.
For around £2500 you cannot get a better Flight Logging system!
